Experience North India
A million words too would fall short, if we intend to parallelize the vastness of what this city is comprised of : Delhi is haste, Delhi is lethargy, Delhi is serene, Delhi is bustling. With the list expanding every millisecond here, the city is the seat of Indian Government, mainstream media channels, sky-soaring industries, superabundant shopping scenario, India’s topmost universities, deafening parties, pious shrines, and toothsome foods – packed with lots of entertainment for all.
With vestiges of lost empires in almost every neighborhood, Delhi is a city that has been repeatedly ravaged and reborn. Step aboard and you can go from Old Delhi, where laborers haul sacks of spices and jewelers weigh gold on dusty scales, to modern New Delhi, with its colonial-era parliament buildings and penchant for high tea. Gurgaon, a satellite city of skyscraping offices and glitzy malls is also a must among places to see in Delhi.
Replete with an old-world charm, old Delhi lies unscathed. The area is renowned for its palatable and wide food options, its magnificent monuments like Red Fort and Jama Masjid, its superabundant markets, and its captivating Islamic dazzle. Its narrow streets and blingy aura has lured a million travelers and locals.
With different ingredients, the opposite world of Lutyen’s Delhi has an equally vigorous captivity. Enjoy some of the hi-tech edifices, up-market shopping destinations, some eminent political spots and scurried metal roads as you walk parallel to them. Housing some world-class facilities and world-known buildings, New Delhi or The Lutyen’s Delhi is a well planned area of the city.

The tomb is a resting place of the powerful personality in Mughal Court, Itmad-Ud-Daulah, whose life is very interesting. Formerly a very poor Persian merchant then named Mirza Ghiyas or Ghiyas Beg he became a minister and a trusted treasure in Akbar’s court. After Akbar’s death in 1605, his son Jahangir rose into power. Jahangir made Ghiyas Beg his chief minister and honored him with the title of Itmad-Ud-Daulah, the Pillar of State. Later, Jahangir met a beautiful daughter of Ghiyas Beg named Mehr-Un-Nissa and married her. Mehr-Un-Nissa soon played a significant role in the Jahangir’s court and was called Nur Mahal, the light pf the Place. Owing to her influence, her father and brother were granted with privileges in the court. When Ghiyas beg (Itmad-Un-Daulah) dies in 1622, Nur
Mahal decided to build a mausoleum for him. Queen Mumtaz Mahal or the lady of the Taj was also from this prevailing family.
